Amazon unveiled the new Fire TV interface back in September. It has now begun rolling out the redesign to the Fire TV Stick (third-gen) and Fire TV Stick Lite. Amazon will bring the new Fire TV interface to different devices next year.
The changes on Fire TV are very evident beginning with the home screen which currently has new main menu. You would now be able to look over changed applications to see a preview of your content, and also jump straight to shows you’re currently watching. The main menu tab has options for Find, Live, Library and next to it different apps will be displayed.
Find is additionally another option to the Fire TV UI. As the name recommends, this tool is aimed at helping you easily find movies and TV shows to watch on Fire TV. You can search for different content by popular categories including movies,TV shows, free content and sports. You can also use filters to narrow down your search on Fire TV. There’s also a Live tab which features all the live content from different apps. Amazon rolled out the Live tab separately for Fire TV users in India this October.
Amazon has additionally improved Alexa with the new Fire TV interface. Alexa has been updated to understand commands such as “Alexa, go to Live TV,” and “Alexa, go to News.” You can also set up an Alexa voice profile so you can quickly jump to your profile on Fire TV. You should simply say, “Alexa, change to my profile.”
The new Fire TV interface will be available first to the latest Fire TV Stick and Fire TV Stick Lite which cost ₹3,999 and ₹2,999, respectively. The other Fire TV Stick devices will receive it next year but a specific date hasn’t been confirmed yet.
