Clearing all the rumours around, Apple finally launched the second-generation iPhone SE amidst the global COVID-19 outbreak, on 15th April.
Is the new iPhone SE a replacement to iPhone 8?
The new iPhone SE 2020 as officially named, is basically the sequel to iPhone SE launched in 2016. However, it physically resembles the iPhone 8, that is, it has a 4.7-inch IPS LCD Retina display with large bezels on the top and bottom and a much-missed home button with Touch ID. Apple has essentially replaced the iPhone 8 with iPhone SE as it has stopped selling iPhone 8 in several markets. The cases built for iPhone 8 will work quite fine for iPhone SE.
iPhone SE makes a good deal
iPhone SE seems to be a good deal for low budget iPhones’ range as it has a better camera and processor than iPhone 8. Moreover, iPhone SE has Apple’s A13 Bionic chip making it akin to the latest iPhone 11 models, also ensuring to have a longer lifespan than the iPhone 8 model. Ultimately, we can say that iPhone SE revives Apple’s old design (as in iPhone 8) acquiring all the modern features internally (as of iPhone 11).
iPhone SE’s other features include 4k video support, Gigabit LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Haptic touch (replacing for 3D touch) and dual-SIMs, out of which the second one is an eSIM. The available colors of this model are white, black and red (PRODUCT).
How much to spend?
The starting price for iPhone SE has been announced to be $399 (approximately 31,000 INR) with a storage of 64GB which makes it quite budget-friendly in the Apple ecosystem. Also, there will be two more models with storage variant, 128GB model for $449(around 35,000 INR) and a 256GB model for $549(around 49,000 INR).
Hence, people who always wished to own an iPhone but were stuck with their budget issue can now think of buying this new iPhone SE 2020.
iPhone 12 series to show up in 2020
All the rumours and leaks signal the release of iPhone 12 series this year itself by mid-September. Although there has been a lot of uncertainty lately regarding almost everything, however the launch of iPhone SE tends to harbour some hope.
What to expect from iPhone 12 models?
Leaks have unveiled that there will be four models in iPhone 12 series, namely, iPhone 12 with 5.4-inch and 6.1-inch displays and aluminium bodies, iPhone 12 Pro with a 6.1-inch display and iPhone 12 Pro Max with a 6.7-inch display with stainless steel bodies. All models are rumoured to have a smaller notch than the current iPhone models and also with 5G compatibility. The iPhone 12 versions will have an upgraded dual-lens camera and the Pro models will have a triple-lens camera with a LIDAR sensor on the back akin to iPad Pro 2020.
While these are just the rumoured or rather leaked information, Apple has yet many intriguing features to reveal and take us by surprise. So, hang on till we bring any further spoilers exclusively to you.
