India has emerged as the tenth worst-hit country by the novel corona-virus after four days of record spikes in the number of cases. The country logged 6,977 new patients in the last 24 hours, taking the total to nearly 1.38 lakh cases.
BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra has been admitted to a private hospital in Gurgoan after showing the possible symptoms of corona-virus, PTI quoted sources as saying. Sambit is admitted to the Medanta Private Hospital in Gurgaon, hospital sources said, told PTI.
Sambit Patra is a former medical officer at Hindu Rao Hospital. He is one of the official spokespersons of the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP). Patra is a renounce political figure with over 4.4 million followers on Twitter, is also one of the most visible BJP faces on various TV news channels.
On 28th May 2020, Thursday, Patra showed the possible corona-virus symptoms and was then directly hospitalized in a private hospital in Gurgaon.

In India Maharashtra, the worst-hit state crossed the 50,000 marks in the number of coronavirus cases on Sunday. The state reported its highest single-day spike of 3,041 cases.
