CBI Raids On Tejashwi Yadav’s Party Men On Day Of Bihar Test Of Strength

The "land-for-jobs" scam dates back to Lalu Yadav's tenure as Railway minister in the UPA-I government.

Patna: The homes of two senior heads of the Tejashwi Yadav-drove Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) were attacked by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today regarding the “land-for-occupations” case that claims anomalies during his dad Lalu Yadav’s residency as Railway serve in the UPA-I government.

The strikes were done on a day when the Nitish Kumar-drove government supported by RJD steps through an examination of larger part in the Assembly, fourteen days after the Janata Dal (United) headed out in different directions from the BJP and held hands with RJD.

CBI groups arrived at the homes of RJD’s Rajya Sabha MP Ahmad Ashfaque Karim and a Member of Legislative Council in Bihar, Sunil Singh today. “This is being done deliberately. There is no significance. They are doing it trusting that our MLAs will go along with them out of dread,” Mr Singh said after his Patna home was attacked.

A RJD representative had tweeted the previous evening that the CBI and other focal organizations are getting ready for assaults in light of the fact that the BJP was “enraged” over losing power in Bihar, “Furious BJP partners CBI, ED, IT are planning for strike in Bihar very soon. The social affair has begun in Patna. Tomorrow is a significant day,” he had tweeted.

Responding to the allegations that the raids are an attempt to create pressure on RJD leaders, BJP leader Ashok Sinha said these raids are being conducted against ” some notorious politicians”. “Even RJD workers are happy today. They feel these people should meet this end,” he said.

In May this year, Lalu Yadav and several of his family members were charged in a corruption case alleging irregularities in recruitment for railway jobs between 2004 and 2009.

The CBI case alleges that Mr Yadav and his relatives got land and properties as pay off for giving out rail route occupations.

The RJD had then tweeted that various strikes have been led regarding the “purported Railway trick” however nothing has been found.

“Lalu ji was Railway Minister from 2004 to 2009. In the event that the CBI needs to lead strikes 13 years after the fact, you can comprehend what a terrible organization it is. The Lalu family won’t bow and get terrified,” the tweet in Hindi said.

In June, the CBI had captured Lalu Yadav’s helper Bhola Yadav regarding the case. The most recent attacks, CBI sources said, depend on data that became visible during Bhola Yadav’s scrutinizing.
