The lockdown cause by Corona Virus in India has restricted every work continuation. While 10th and 12th class students are awaiting their boards exam results, few of them are even waiting for their boards examination to be finished. This is because few of the boards examinations’ subject couldn’t take place because of the Lockdown.
Today, the Ministry of Home Affairs finally accepted the proposal of allowing CBSE to conduct checking of examination answer sheets.
This year, even the teachers checking the papers will work from home. The answer sheets will be sent from 3000 schools to evaluators’ home and they’ll be given a time of 50 days to check them all. This will ensure social distancing and will continue the process without any further delay.
Around 18 lakhs students of class 10th and 12 lakhs students of class 12th are awaiting their results. Moreover, there are 29 pending examinations still.
The HRD Ministry has also allowed the pending examinations to be conducted. Class 12th examinations will be conducted throughout the country while class 10th exams will be conducted only in the North-East Delhi.
These exams will be conducted from July 1 to July 15. However, this decision will be re-thought due to safety concerns.
“A lot of work needs to be done regarding norms as to how students will come to exam centres, the seating arrangement etc. CBSE will bring out certain directions from time to time in this regard. School managements will also have to do their part so that social distancing takes place,” said a senior CBSE official.
The Lockdown is seen to be extended in the near future too. Hence the already- delayed work had to be completed. This is why CBSE has been regularly asking permissions to the Ministry of HRD to which HRD minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank agreed to it today.
