Mumbai: Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray on Sunday targeted the BJP, saying State head Narendra Modi could never have come this far had Bal Thackeray not “saved” him when the then PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee had requested that he follow “rajdharma”.
He said Shiv Sena safeguarded a political initiative for 25-30 years however they (BJP) didn’t need Sena and furthermore the Akali Dal-the recent individuals from the BJP-drove Public Popularity based Union (NDA).

Uddhav Thackeray blamed the BJP for making a break among Hindus.

Had that not occurred he (PM Modi) could not have possibly arrived at here,” Mr Thackeray said in an obvious reference to Vajpayee’s comments asking then Gujarat boss priest Modi to follow “rajdharma” after the 2002 common mobs.
He said the Shiv Sena organizer never sustained contempt.
