Mumbai: Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray on Sunday targeted the BJP, saying State head Narendra Modi could never have come this far had Bal Thackeray not “saved” him when the then PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee had requested that he follow “rajdharma”.

He said Shiv Sena safeguarded a political initiative for 25-30 years however they (BJP) didn’t need Sena and furthermore the Akali Dal-the recent individuals from the BJP-drove Public Popularity based Union (NDA).
