India logs 2,841 new cases, 9 deaths in last 24 hours

According to statistics issued by the Ministry of Health on Friday, India registered 2,841 new Covid-19 cases and 9 fatalities in the last 24 hours, bringing the overall death toll to 5,24,190. (May 13, 2022). There are currently 18,604 active cases.

In the last 24 hours, the active Covid-19 caseload has decreased by 463 cases. Today, the country registered 3,295 recoveries, bringing the overall number of recoveries to 4,25,73,460.

The active instances represent 0.04 percent of the entire caseload, while the national Covid-19 recovery rate is 98.74 percent, according to the ministry.

According to the ministry, the daily positivity rate was 0.58 percent and the weekly positivity rate was 0.69 percent.

Furthermore, the cumulative doses delivered in the country as part of the statewide Covid-19 immunisation effort have surpassed 190.99 crore. In the previous 24 hours, 4,86,628 tests were performed to identify the existence of the virus.

Meanwhile, the global coronavirus caseload has surpassed 520 million, with over 6.26 million fatalities and over 11.39 billion immunizations, according to Johns Hopkins University.

According to the CSSE, the United States remains the worst-affected country, with the most cases and fatalities (82,325,687 and 999,125, respectively). With 43,113,413, India has the second biggest caseload.
