Kia Motors INDIA launched the Sonet SUV on Friday, starting at an introductory price of Rs 6.71 lakh (Ex-Showroom Price).
The diesel 6MT starts at Rs 8.05 lakh (ex-showroom price) while the turbo variants starts at Rs 9.49 lakh (ex-showroom) with 6iMT gearbox and Rs 10.49 lakh (Ex-Showroom Price) with 7-DCT gearbox.
Much like Seltos, Kia Sonet is available in tech line and GT line with 6 trims – HTE, HTK, HTK+, HTX, HTX+ and GTX. The top-end diesel automatic and 1.0-litre turbo with 6iMT is priced at Rs 11.99 lakh.
Kia Sonet gets bold and dynamic design, high-quality interiors, 30+ segment-best features, a wide choice of powertrains. Sonet is offered with Kia’s signature UVO Connect suite of technologies, with a range of 57 features for owners offering convenience, remote control, navigation, safety, security and vehicle management. This also includes Kia’s UVO Voice Assist feature, which reacts to the welcome, “Hello, Kia.”

A choice of two petrol engines – Smartstream 1.2-litre, four-cylinder and 1.0 T-GDi and a 1.5- litre CRDi diesel engine are available with a choice of five transmissions. This includes five and six-speed manuals, an intuitive seven-speed DCT six-speed automatic, and new six-speed intelligent Manual Transmission.
The latter is a technological breakthrough offering fatigue-free driving with its clutch pedal-less gearbox yet giving the same driver control as a conventional manual transmission. Also, for the first time in this segment, the diesel engine variant of the Sonet comes with a choice of a six-speed automatic transmission.
It also comes comprehensively equipped with an array of safety features, including six airbags, ABS (anti-lock braking system) with EBD (electronic brake force distribution), ESC (Electronic Stability Control), HAC (Hill-start Assist Control), VSM (Vehicle Stability Management) and BA (brake assist) and more.
