Noida and Ghaziabad on Wednesday decided to maintain with curbs on the borders, an afternoon after the UP authorities accredited them to take a selection in consultation with their respective health and police departments. Current motion restrictions between Delhi and the two cities will, therefore, retain.
Both the districts of Gautam Budh Nagar and the neighbouring Ghaziabad stated Delhi’s large Covid case load to justify the border restrictions in a strategy meeting with Union domestic minister Amit Shah remaining month.
“We might retain with the existing arrangements. Motorists will no longer be allowed to move to and fro without legitimate reasons,” stated Noida district Justice of the Peace, Suhas LY. Noida police have already deployed a large quantity of personnel at its borders with Delhi, especially at DND Flyway and Kalindi Kunj.
On Tuesday, the UP chief secretary’s order said that the administration, police and health department officers in Gautam Budh Nagar and Ghaziabad districts in NCR can decide what regulations have to be imposed regionally after deliberations.
In Ghaziabad, district Justice of the Peace Ajay Shankar Pandey stated that after due deliberations with the police and health departments, it has been decided that border restrictions will continue to be as before. “The state authorities have mandated us to take a name on whether or not to permit uninhibited motion to Delhi or no longer. In view of the growing cases, it has been decided that movement restrictions at the border with Delhi will stay,” he said.
While strict vigil was being maintained, relaxations have been also offered in phases to allow interstate motion of doctors, health workers, lawyers, media persons, transporters among others. And onward June 5, the administrations in the districts have been taking lenient view at the border movement and carrying out tests randomly.
