Singer Sardool Sikander Dies At 60.

Renowned Punjabi singer Sardool Sikander died at the age of 60 on Wednesday. It has been reported that Sardool Sikander was undergoing treatment for COVID-19 at a hospital in Mohali. A shattered music industry mourned the iconic Punjabi Singer, who was known for singing tracks like Ek Charkha Gali De Wich Dha Laya and Sanu Ishq Brandi Char Gayi, on social media with heart-wrenching posts. Daler Mehndi shared a photo of Sardool Sikander on Twitter and poured his heart out with these words: “Bade dukh di khabar, Sardool Sikander saheb nahi rahe. Singer Harshdeep Kaur wrote: “Bahut hi dukhad khabar… Saddened to hear about the demise of legendary Punjabi singer Sardool Sikander Ji. Huge loss to the music industry. Prayers for his family.”

Sardool Sikander was considered a master of folk and pop music in the Punjabi music industry. His albums and songs like Husna De Malko, Dil Nai Lagdaa, Tere Lag Gai Mehndi, Charadi Khalla Tenu Samne Tu Hase, Bole So Nihaal, Khalsa Dee Chardi Kala and Ik Tu Hove Ik Main Hovan still rule the hearts of many.

Sardool Sikander also acted in some Punjabi films such as Jagga Daku and Police In Pollywood.

Sardool is survived by his sons – singer and music producer Sarang Sikander and Alaap Sikander – and wife Amar Noorie.
